Texas Employer Teller II in WICHITA FALLS, Texas

DESCRIPTION: Performs routine cashier transactions, data entry and entry level accounting procedures, maintenance of records, accounts reconciliation, and counting cash. Reports to the Cashier. EXAMPLES: Receives and verifies monies collected by university. Accepts payments for university accounts, cashes checks, issues receipts, and checks account balances. Handles money and charge cards for payments and deposits. Maintains custody of cash and balances cash drawer and receipts, and identifies document discrepancies. Assists customers in locating specific items and provides information regarding account balances. Prepares and performs data entry on accounting documents such as fees, revenues, invoices, and student payments. Maintains records. Reconciles student accounts on request. Files and maintains clerical records and reports pertinent to accounting and teller operations. Performs other related duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE Requires one year or more teller/cashier experience as well as general office work experience with emphasis on computer related skills and record keeping. KNOWLEDGE: Working knowledge of acceptable office/cashier procedures, skill in handling and counting cash. Excellent customer service skills. Skill in using calculator, personal computer for data entry and other related office machines. Ability to perform numerical detail work with speed and accuracy and to understand and put into operation oral and written instructions. EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent required. Accounting courses preferred. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires attention to detail and accuracy. Must be able to work under stressful conditions. Ability to communicate effectively.
