Performs semi-professional work on various projects and programs. Work is performed under supervision within established policies with latitude for independent judgment. Employee performance is based upon a review of completed work and overall results obtained. May supervise specialized clerical section.
Performs skilled work in monitoring environmental control equipment, energy management and conservation programs and controls, and property/life safety alarms for Texas Tech University facilities.
Provides data acquisition and report preparation for the department maintenance management programs. Provides 24-hour point of contact for campus customers to report problems with facilities or request help in emergency situations.
Must have good phone and customer service skills, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to deal with customers, shop personnel and other department personnel.
Experience with a two-way radio and environmental controls software a plus.
Must be able to type 40 WPM and pass spelling test.
Position requires working 12 hours rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
Must be self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
Complies with written direction for after normal hours work control center operations to dispatch construction trade personnel for emergency facility repairs.
Coordinates heating and air conditioning equipment operating scheduled with facility utilization requirements to maximize energy conservation.
Assists electronic maintenance environmental systems technicians in trouble shooting computerized field unit energy management panel program discrepancies.
Must be proficient in the following software programs: MS Office, Outlook, Excel, and all windows programs.
Minimum Hire Rate:
12 hours rotating shift including weekends and holidays
2 years experience as an emergency dispatcher. Certified Microsoft Office Specialist. Experience monitoring and operating HVAC controls systems.
