St. Joseph Health CT Tech - Emergency Centers (Nights) in Lubbock, Texas

Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the CT Supervisor and the general supervision of the Director of Imaging Services or SWMP Manager, performs CT Scan procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and injuries.

Essential Functions: 1. Performs CT procedures as prescribed by physician by determing the proper technical factors on an individual patients basis. 2. Positions patients accurately for the proper view of the affected area. 3. Selects and operates CT equipment as directed. 4. Prepares room, equipment and contrast media and administers contrast media to the patient as required by the procedure. 5. Instructs patients as to the proper physiological requirements for the procedure. 6. Identifies and develops film using proper technique, demonstrates proper filming procedures. 7. Abides in the established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality management, general and radiation safety, environmental and infection control standards. 8. Maintains accurate records of procedures as required and performs necessary clerical duties. 9. Instructs radiologic technology student on equipment operation, techniques and positioning. 10. Ensures a clean working environment and stock supplies as necessary. 11. Assist with exam scheduling and telephone inquiries as necessary. 12. Performs archiving and other scan associated duties as required. 13. Performs screening process of patients, staff, and equipment by following contraindications protocol to ensure the safety of such in the CT environment.

Minimum Position Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma Experience: One-year experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred. Training: Satisfactory completion of an AMA approved School of Radiology Technology. License / Certification: Registered of Registry Eligible by the A.R.R.T., Licensed by the Texas Department of Health as a Medical Radiologic Technologist, CPR certifications.

Preferred Position Qualifications: CT/MRI registry preferred.

CPR Certification within thirty (30) days of employment
