Position Description Performs responsible and complex duties associated with a specialized function of a section of clerical employees in a correctional institution
- Update EMR program with chain out list provided by count room daily. Delete any reminders for outgoing offenders by 2:30 p.m.Keep accurate schedulinglists as provided byreminders in EMR program. Reschedules reminders as necessary. Enter lay-ins into TDCJ program by 3:30 p.m. to coordinate with count room printing of lay-ins for offenders. Answers phone, forwards or takes messages for staff, answers questions if possible. Certified Spanish medical translation as needed for medical departments. Retrieve mail daily, distribution of mail to department staff. Separates I-60/sick calls, returns psychiatric medical requests to pod charge nurses. Forward Dental, CID, Chronic Clinic, Copay, I-60’s request to respective departments. Organize outgoing mail and return to mailroom daily by 5:00 p.m.Procures EMR emails concerning appointment follow-ups and work restriction updates and processes the information accordingly into appropriate programs.Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Three years progressively responsible clerical experience. Additional education and/or related experience to equal three years may substitute on a year for year basis.

Pay Statement Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.
