Position Description Analyzes and coordinates office services such as personnel, budget preparation and control, fiscal affairs, equipment utilization, records control, and special management studies.

Major/Essential Functions Payroll and Tax Services is looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our team. This position is primarily responsible for monitoring leave reporting and initiating leave payments for Texas Tech University Systems, Texas Tech University, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso.

Primary Functions are:

  • Responsible for weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual completion of reports as assigned.

  • Conduct audit review of leave balances for an employee or department as needed. Take corrective action to resolve discrepancies when necessary.

  • Communicate and resolve issues related to pending leave reports. Research and perform manual leave adjustments as needed.

  • Maintain approval routing for web time entry and web leave reporting.

  • Research lump sum vacation, death benefit, and compensatory time balances and facilitate payment requests.

  • Assist team with research and implementation of updated processes and procedures. Help with development of reports and monitoring based on assignment.

  • Document business processes and operational procedures. Help to integrate and streamline departmental business processes to best meet the needs of the institution.

  • Interact with departments and employees on compliance rules and regulations for leave reporting and adjustments. Keep up to date on existing and new legislation, operating policies and to meet federal, state and local legal regulations and requirements.

  • Coordinate responses to emails sent to the Payroll Webmaster.

  • Monitor leave accruals and usage for employees on leave without pay and FMLA leave.

  • Complete various duties and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in job related field plus one year of related experience; OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal five (5) years.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and efficiency with Microsoft Office

Pay Statement Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.
