The Development Specialist at MD Anderson Cancer Center partners with fundraisers in the cultivation and stewardship strategies of active donors in the regional team’s respective portfolios. The Development Specialist will manage these activities through the planning, coordination and execution of site visits, tours and events at times in concert with the Development Office’s Special Programs team.
This position requires periodic evening and/or weekend work time to cover planned events within assigned territory.
The ideal candidate will have event planner experience and the ability to multi-task.

Minimum: $38,800 Midpoint: $49,500 Maximum: $60,200
TEAM EVENT RELATED DUTIES – 65%
Responsible for coordinating successful logistics related to teamand donor related site visits and events for their designated region includingpre-event and post event communications, follow-up and analysis and budgetmanagement.
Assist with preparation of agendas, briefings\documents andmaintain communications with all parties involved and attend, as applicable andneeded, courtesy donor visits of donor referrals in the clinic.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to createmaintain, and document to support key regional strategies including topfoundations, corporations, ultrahigh net worth donor’s per region (and state)as applicable.
INITIATIVE – 25%
Must be well organized and be able to effectively work on and managemultiple projects and assignments in a very busy, fast-paced and heavyworkload environment and maintain control of assignments/projects.
Must be able to work independentlywith minimal supervision; effectively and efficiently organize and prioritizework load to meet dynamic demands.
Must demonstrate critical thinking and execution skills.
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES – 10%
- Must have thorough knowledge of institutional policies and proceduresand departmental procedures.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or related field.
Required: One year of clerical, office, administrative, organizational, or related support experience.
May substitute the required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
Preferred: Event planner experience.
