This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the Houston, Texas region. In this role, it will be critical for you to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. To succeed in this role, you will need to effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Your responsibilities - Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team - Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities - Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll - Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners - Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques - Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals - Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective - Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations G/L analysis - Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required - Manage the production of the yearly budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
