To coordinate multiple research projects under the guidance of the Principal Investigator and to provide both research and administrative support.
Provide clerical/administrative oversight of daily office operations and office and research lab functions. Train, coordinate, monitor, and supervise the activities of undergraduate research assistants. Serve as primary liaison with off-site project staff, PI's, visitors, campus colleagues, and collaborators. Coordinate and manage international visiting scholars. Serve as liaison with Human Development and Family Sciences department administrators. Coordinate human subjects protection policies and procedures, including protocol development and submission procedures, renewals, and audit reviews. Perform comprehensive searches of websites or organizations related to the SOGI Health and Rights lab. Assist with research projects, perform comprehensive literature reviews, and contribute to the preparation of peer-reviewed manuscripts, grants, and reports. Format and edit conference posters and materials. Manage paper and electronic databases/archives for projects. Update project/lab websites and social media outlets. Manage PI's calendar, contact, email and mail correspondence, as well as any PI travel request submissions. Schedule, organize and manage lab and research project meetings. Monitor grant/project timelines. Coordinate the development of communications and promotional literature for distribution, including brochures or flyers; coordinate process from development through printing and distribution.
Other related functions as assigned.
Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
Bachelor's degree. Two years of experience in the field of research. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office. Demonstrated strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to document processes or information. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of cultural differences. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Masters degree. Familiarity or experience with online survey software (e.g., Qualtrics, MAXQDA, Transcribe Wreally, Box, Dropbox). Experience working with culturally diverse populations. Demonstrated computer competency and knowledge of statistical software packages such as STATA, SPSS, MAXQDA. Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of issues related to gender and/or sexuality.
May work around standard office conditions

Occasional weekend, overtime and evening work to meet deadlines.
A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
